How to Play

Build a Garden Tower is a six-player Roblox tycoon. You do not fight waves. You do not climb an obby. You plant, harvest, sell, upgrade floors, and forage for rarer crops. This page is the control and HUD map. For raw keybinds by platform use controls. For the first-hour order of operations use Getting Started; for spend order use make money.

Goal

Raise cash-per-second by filling a glass greenhouse with plants, then buying more floors so more plants fit. Official thumbnails show the fantasy endpoints: a $1/s starter house versus a pagoda tower marked $67,343,101/s, and a Day 1 fruit tree versus a Day 7 courtyard. Those images are the pitch. Your HUD number is the truth.

Progress saves on the account. Closing Roblox does not reset the tower.

The Speed Coil pass only increases walk speed. Buy it after the greenhouse is large enough that walking between plots wastes harvest time. It does not grow plants faster.

HUD you should actually watch

Cash. The spendable pile. Goes up when you sell, down when you buy plants or floors.

Cash-per-second. The rate your garden is producing. If this number does not move after a purchase, you bought a decoration or a plant that is still growing.

Storage. Fruit, forage finds, and crate contents share a cap. The +200 Storage pass exists because the default cap is easy to slam. A full bar means new fruit may not land.

Shop / restock. Plants appear in a rotating shop. “Max out your crates” is in the official description — crates are a second RNG layer on top of the shop.

Passes. Auto Collect Fruits (FOREVER) at 99 Robux (2-minute tick), Speed Coil at 9, x2 Forage Luck at 199, +200 Storage at 49 — prices as of 7 September 2026. None of them are required to play. The game pass catalog lists them; the planner ranks them.

Planting

  1. Open the shop.
  2. Buy a plant you can afford and have space for.
  3. Place it on an empty plot. Rotate if the model clips the glass; clipping is cosmetic, but blocked walkways slow collection.
  4. Wait through the grow cycle. Collect fruit. Sell.

Do not delete a producing plant to make room for a themed prop. Move the prop to a balcony or wait for the next floor. The tower upgrade page is how you get that balcony legally.

Harvesting and Auto Collect

Without the pass you walk plot to plot. With Auto Collect Fruits (FOREVER) the game pulls fruit on a two-minute cadence. “Forever” means the pass is permanent, not that it collects every second. If you AFK for ten minutes you get about five collect ticks, not a vacuum.

Auto Collect does not sell. You still convert fruit to cash, and you still watch storage.

Selling and crates

Sell from the sell prompt or NPC near your plot — wherever the tutorial first sent you. Selling should be a habit, not a panic when storage is full.

Crates are the other official money line: “Sell your harvest for cash · Max out your crates and make money.” Open crates when you have storage headroom. Opening ten crates into a full bar is how rares disappear.

Foraging

Forage is a luck roll for plants you cannot (or should not) buy from the cheap row. x2 Forage Luck doubles that luck. It does not reveal hidden nodes by itself. Walk the garden edges and any marked forage spots after you have empty storage. Details and spend advice sit on rare plants.

Other players

Six people share a server. You can walk over and look at their pagoda. You cannot harvest their fruit. If someone is blocking a path, hop to another server — there is no combat system to “win” the plot.

Voice chat is not listed as supported on the experience page. Chat and emotes are enough to ask where the shop is.

Pause, save, rejoin

Leave through the Roblox menu. Rejoin from the same place ID. If the greenhouse looks brand new, you entered a namesake game (Garden Tower, Grow a Garden Tower obby, Garden Tower Defense). Confirm the creator is Evil Penguinz.

When the HUD makes sense, go back to Getting Started if you have not bought a floor yet, or jump to the tier list if the shop is already tempting you with shiny crops.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is this a tower defense game?

No. It is a simulation tycoon. You grow plants for cash-per-second. There are no waves or unit DPS.

Does Auto Collect work while I am in another Roblox game?

You must be in the experience. The pass ticks every two minutes during a session, not across the whole platform.

Can friends plant on my floors?

No. Other players can visit the server; your tower and harvest stay on your account.

Where is forage?

On and around your garden after you have storage space. x2 Forage Luck only multiplies the roll; it does not add a new menu.
