Build a Garden Tower Tier List
Ranked by cash-per-second role, not by how expensive the restock looks.
This tier list ranks jobs, not a fake spreadsheet of DPS. Build a Garden Tower does not publish a public crop API. Anyone listing exact $/s for every tulip is inventing numbers. We rank how a plant should be used in September 2026: print cash, fill a new floor, hunt as a rare, or sit on a themed balcony.
Criteria, in order:
- Does the in-game tooltip beat the crop it would replace?
- How much plot space and pathing does the model steal?
- Can you get another copy from shop, crate, or forage without waiting a week?
- Does it still work if you never buy a game pass?
PvP does not exist here. “S tier for Defense” is the wrong game. If a video ranks Tomato and Cactus as towers, close it and come back.
S — print cash, then print more
Cheap, fast harvest plants that you can carpet a floor with. They are the entire first hour of Getting Started and the backbone of make money. If the shop restock shows a boring green crop that cycles quickly, it is S even if the thumbnail is ugly.
S rule: if you hesitate to delete it for a trophy, it is doing its job. Keep it until a tooltip is honestly better.
A — worth a dedicated plot
Forage rares that beat your worst starter. One or two per floor. They justify walking nodes and maybe x2 Forage Luck. They do not justify emptying a whole greenhouse.
Crate plants with a clear tooltip upgrade. Open the crate with storage headroom, read the number, then replace a single C-tier plot.
A-tier plants are why you buy extra floors — so they have a home without deleting your S carpet.
B — fine, not a plan
Themed plants that match Update 6 art (cherry blossoms, tulips, pines, indoor pond dressing). Beautiful. Slow. Allowed on a showcase floor after the HUD rate is healthy. Official Day 7 courtyards are B until proven otherwise by tooltip.
Duplicate rares. A second trophy of the same model is B unless you are filling a themed balcony on purpose.
C — skip unless you are decorating on purpose
Huge models that block collect prompts. If you have to jump to harvest the plot behind it, the plant is costing you Auto Collect ticks and walk time.
Expensive restocks with worse tooltips than your cheap row. “Rare” in the shop UI is a marketing word.
Anything you would only place if a YouTube thumbnail told you to. Watch RowdeeGames for the loop, not for a secret S crop that is not in the description.
Passes are not plants, but they change ranks
| Pass | Effect on the list |
|---|---|
| Auto Collect Fruits | Makes dense S carpets better; you are not walking every tile |
| +200 Storage | Makes A-tier crate/forage keeps realistic |
| x2 Forage Luck | Pushes more plants into A over time |
| Speed Coil | Helps tall towers; does not change a crop’s tier |
Details sit on the game pass planner and the dedicated plants ranking page, which splits income versus showcase more finely.
How to use this list in a session
- Open the shop.
- For each restock, ask: S carpet, A replacement, or C skip?
- Forage only after selling.
- After a numbered patch, assume B/C themed plants rotated in. Recheck Update 6.
- Do not rebuild the whole tower in one restock. Replace the worst plot and move on.
The list will look “vague” compared to a fake 40-row table. That is intentional. Trust the HUD. When Evil Penguinz publishes numbers, this hub will print them. Until then, role ranks plus tooltips beat fan fiction.
Continue to plants ranking for the split list, or to starter plants if you still need a first-floor buy order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why are there no exact $/s numbers?
The developer has not published a public crop table. We rank roles and tell you to read in-game tooltips rather than invent stats.
Is this list for Garden Tower Defense?
No. Defense units and Seeds are a different game. This list is for the Evil Penguinz tycoon.
Should I sell S plants for a themed floor?
Not until cash-per-second is already comfortable. Theme is B-tier until the HUD agrees.
How often will this change?
After numbered updates. Recheck this hub and Update 6 when the Roblox icon changes.
