Build a Garden Tower Launch

From a June 2026 greenhouse to a 13 million visit tycoon.

Launch Notes

Build a Garden Tower went live on Roblox on 27 June 2026 under the verified group Evil Penguinz (owner Vintage_Jr). It is a simulation tycoon, not an obby and not a defense game. This page is the launch snapshot so later patch pages have something to stand on.

What launched

The description on day one is still the description now:

  • Buy plants and grow them. Chase rare plants and a tall tower.
  • Sell harvest for cash. Max crates.
  • Upgrade the tower farm for more floors and building space.
  • Progress saves.
  • PC, mobile, and console.

Official thumbnails already sold the fantasy: $1/s starter house versus a $67,343,101/s pagoda, Day 1 fruit tree versus Day 7 courtyard, two greenhouse interiors under “BUILD YOUR GARDEN.” The loop did not need a tutorial dungeon. It needed plots.

Why people confused the name

Search “garden tower” in 2026 and you hit Garden Tower Defense (hundreds of millions of visits), Grow a Garden Tower obbies, and this tycoon. The distinguishing marks:

This gameNot this game
Evil PenguinzGarden Defenders, Jandel fan obbies
Cash-per-second greenhouseWaves, Seeds, parkour
6-player servers20-player TD lobbies
Passes: Auto Collect, Coil, Forage Luck, StorageUnit crates and maps

If a launch-week guide mentions Gerald Gnome, close it. Use this wiki’s how to play instead.

Growth to September 2026

At research time the experience had on the order of 13.9 million visits, 27 thousand favorites, and a couple thousand concurrent players. The icon advanced to Update 6. Four game passes sat on the store. No public Trello. Group membership sat near 69 thousand for Evil Penguinz as a whole (the group also ships other experiences).

That growth is why codes, scripts, and fake stat tables started appearing for other garden games and getting copy-pasted here. We keep the codes hub empty rather than pollute it.

Launch advice that still works

  1. Fill the $1/s house before decorating.
  2. Buy floors for plots.
  3. Sell so storage can accept crates and forage.
  4. Ignore namesake games in search.
  5. Confirm the creator is Evil Penguinz every time you favorite a link.

Those five lines are also Getting Started. Launch did not hide a secret mode. It hid a shop restock and a height button.

Where launch sits in the wiki

When Update 7 ships, leave this page alone. It is the historical floor, not a living changelog.

Launch-week player mistakes (still happening)

Search-driven confusion was the biggest launch bug that was not a bug. People joined a Grow a Garden Tower obby, redeemed Defense codes, then wrote the tycoon off. The creator line on the Roblox page is the fix: Evil Penguinz. Teach that to anyone you invite.

The second mistake was decorating from the thumbnail. The $67M/s pagoda is a destination image, not a blueprint for hour one. Launch players who copied it stalled at $1/s with a pretty roof. Fill trays first.

The third mistake was treating six-player servers as co-op farming. Friends can look. They cannot harvest for you. If you want to play together, you are racing HUD numbers, not sharing a plot. That is still true.

If you are writing a guide in 2026, date it. Launch notes should not be silently rewritten into Update 6. This page stays June. The Update 6 page stays the live icon. The updates hub is the index that points at both.
